  59.  Unlicensed copies of Wilson WindowWare products are 100% fully
  60.  functional.  We make them this way so that you can have a real
  61.  look at them, and then decide whether they fit your needs or
  62.  not.  Our entire business depends on your honesty.  If you use
  63.  it, we expect you to pay for it.  We feel that if we treat you
  64.  well, you will treat us well.  Unlicensed copies of our 
  65.  products do have a registration reminder screen that appears
  66.  whenever you start the program.  This shouldn't really affect
  67.  your evaluation of our software.

  70.  software, you will dig out your credit card, pick up the phone,
  71.  call the nice people at our 800 number and register the

  103.                  HOW TO INSTALL THIS SOFTWARE
  104.  
  105.   Use our snazzy setup program...
  106.  
  107.         1) Close down all extraneous Windows applications.  
  108.            (You do have to be in Windows to run WSETUP.EXE)
  109.  
  110.         2) Double-Click on the WSETUP.EXE program or from
  111.            Program Manager, using File/Run, type the drive
  112.            letter of your floppy drive and wsetup.
  113.            ie. a:\wsetup  
  114.  
  115.         3) When the setup program asks for a directory, specify
  116.            an initial directory, or accept the given default.         
  117.  
  118.         4) When the screen comes up that asks you what you want
  119.            to install, do your selections, or just hit the
  120.            INSTALL ALL button.  Hit the OK button to continue.
  121.  
  122.  
  123.      ******************* MANUAL INSTALL ***********************

  125.       If you cannot use the snazzy setup program, and must do a
  126.       manual install.....good luck.  Basically installing our
  127.       products without going through the setup program is
  128.       "unsupported", as installation of Windows products does
  129.       get tricky.  However as to not leave you completely in the
  130.       lurch....
  131.  
  132.         1) Most files to be installed by the installation
  133.            program end in an underscore "_".  The files might be
  134.            compressed.
  135.  
  136.            If you received the files on a DISK, the probability
  137.            is HIGH that you must expand the files with our
  138.            WEXPAND (see below) program before use.
  139.  
  140.            If you received the files packaged in a ZIP file, the
  141.            probability is LOW and you may simply rename the
  142.            files to the correct name.
  143.  
  144.            If you try to expand a file that was not compressed,
  145.            the expand program will NOT give an error message,
  146.            and will NOT correctly process the file.  In general,
  147.            if the output from the expand program is smaller than
  148.            the file that went in, the expand program should not
  149.            be used.

  157.            By examining the files with our Browser (possibly
  158.            included with the package) program, or basically any
  159.            tool that allows you to look at the file in hex, one
  160.            can quickly learn how to determine if the file is
  161.            compressed or not.  If you can read *any* text in the
  162.            morass of funny looking symbols, the file is probably
  163.            not compressed.  If the characters seem completely
  164.            random, then it is probably compressed.
  165.  
  166.         2) The files (generally) must either be expanded into
  167.            files with the correct names, or must be renamed,
  168.            prior to use.  
  169.  
  170.         3) In general, the DLL files should go into your WINDOWS
  171.            directory, or else some directory mentioned in your
  172.            DOS path statement.
  173.  
  174.         4) The BROWSER.EXE program may be used to view the *.MAN
  175.            manual files.  It is recommended that you put the
  176.            BROWSER program in the same directory you put the DLL
  177.            files.
  178.  
  179.         5) You may want to add to the WIN.INI [Extensions]
  180.            section the following lines:

  213.                     UN-INSTALL INFORMATION
  214.  
  215.  The snazzy setup program will create a DOS batch file -
  216.  UNINSTAL.BAT in the target directory that will un-install the
  217.  product just installed.
  218.  
  219.  You may either review the batch file and perform a manual
  220.  uninstall, or, if you have not installed any products *after*
  221.  installing this product, go ahead and run the batch file.
  222.  
  223.  If you have installed several products before deciding to
  224.  uninstall this, the uninstall will *generally* work
  225.  successfully.  The only problem that occurs is when this
  226.  product uninstalls a file that the other products use.
  227.  
  228.  In general, this will only be a problem when you install
  229.  several of our products, and will be much less of a problem if
  230.  you install products from other vendors.  If problems occur,
  231.  generally all that is required is to re-install the product
  232.  that is complaining about the lack of a file.

  234.  A quick review of the uninstall batch file, and deleting a line
  235.  or two for files you know are used by other products may be all
  236.  that is required to successfully run the uninstall.

  255.                         UPDATE POLICY
  256.  
  257.  Wilson WindowWare frequently updates its products.  There are
  258.  various kinds of updates, including Major updates, Minor
  259.  updates, and bug-fix updates.
  260.  
  261.  Minor and bug-fix updates for our shareware products are free -
  262.  - subject only to our reasonable shipping and and handling
  263.  charges for disks. As we are not in the disk selling business,
  264.  you may find that shareware vendors specializing in disk sales
  265.  can easily sell disks cheaper than we can.  On the other hand,
  266.  we *always* have the most recent versions of our software.   Our
  267.  shipping and handling charges for update disks are as follows:
  268.  
  269.      10.00  US and Canada for the first product.
  270.       5.00  US and Canada for each additional product.
  271.       9.50  Surcharge for shipping outside of US and Canada.
  272.  
  273.  If you obtain a minor or bug-fix update from Compuserve or
  274.  other online service, a BBS, a shareware disk vendor or from
  275.  another source, there is no charge from us (of course you will
  276.  have to pay the on-line service fees, disk vendors fees, or at
  277.  least pay your phone bill for downloading from a BBS). In
  278.  addition, you may use a single disk to update any number of
  279.  copies of a product.
  280.  
  281.  The policy and pricing for Major shareware updates vary.
  282.  Depending on the nature of the upgrade, length of time since
  283.  the previous major upgrade, desirability of new features added,
  284.  the extent of revisions to the printed manuals (if any), work
  285.  involved and possible price changes for new users, we may or
  286.  may not charge fees.  Since it is difficult to determine what
  287.  the cost of future major updates will be, and since we do not
  288.  wish to commit ourselves to the uncertainty of the future, we
  289.  have provided information on the cost of major past updates
  290.  here so that you can see our track record, and possibly feel
  291.  reassured about the future.

  425.  domain software, nor is it free software.

  427.  Non-licensed users are granted a limited license to use our
  428.  software on a 21-day trial basis for the purpose of determining
  429.  whether the software is suitable for their needs.  Any use
  430.  of our software, except for the initial 21-day trial, requires
  431.  registration.  The use of unlicensed copies of our software,
  432.  outside of the initial 21-day trial, by any person, business,
  433.  corporation, government agency or any other entity is
  434.  strictly prohibited.
